Yen Ling is the Divisional Vice President, Scientific & Medical Affairs of Abbott's Nutrition Research & Development globally. She leads an international multi-disciplinary team of > 150 scientists, doctors, researchers and specialists to design science-based nutrition innovations to help consumers live healthier lives and to raise awareness on the importance of nutrition in growth, development, health and recovery.
Yen Ling has many years of experience working in the field of food and nutrition, spanning government, academic and industry settings. Prior to Abbott, she held appointments at the Health Promotion Board under the Ministry of Health in Singapore and at the Singapore Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). Yen Ling joined Abbott in 2009 as a Clinical Scientist and has held positions of increasing levels of responsibilities. Prior to assuming her current position, she served as Area Center Director for Abbott Nutrition R&D Asia-Pacific Center and led multiple projects and studies across Asia including Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, China and India.
Yen Ling graduated with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics with First Class Honors from the University of Surrey, and with a Ph.D. in Nutrition from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
